Cami joins us with impressive background experience in the gaming industry! She attended American University in Washington, D.C., where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration for the Arts, and now resides in Seattle, Washington. She said, “Supporting creatives is something I take seriously. Game Developers are highly creative and helping them get employed is right in line with my studies.”

In 2019, Cami Smith was included in the 50 over 50 Influential People in the Gaming Industry, which makes her such a special addition to ggLocators’ team of Unrivaled Experts in Gaming Recruitment.

Cami’s Involvement in the Industry

For the past ten years, Cami has worked in career development and graduate placement at both the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, as well as Full Sail University. She enjoys building relationships with potential employers and helping innovative individuals find jobs. She feels that helping graduates get hired is especially fulfilling. Cami says her passion is helping keep the game community connected. She is very involved with the Seattle Game and XR Community. She says, “I am on the board of the Seattle IGDA (International Game Developers Association.) I also co-founded the Diversity Collective+. I help plan and produce the events for the Seattle VR/AR group, and just recently I was asked to join the Seattle Visual Effects Society.” She is fascinated with VR, so during the pandemic she acquired an Oculus Quest, which gave her the opportunity to play with friends and family remotely.

Joining a Team of Unrivaled Experts

Cami says, “The leadership, training, and support makes ggLocators a great place to work. The gg team has been very patient with me as I learn the software here.” In her role as a Recruiter, she hopes to connect top-tier game developers, and their unique skillsets, with businesses hungry for creative talent.

Outside the Office

In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy cycling around Seattle. She says, “after work we hop on our bikes and find some hills to climb!” Cami also spends her time outside of the office as a Mixed Media Artist.

We look forward to having Cami’s expertise in the industry on our team and can’t wait to see where her many talents take her. Welcome to the team, Cami!
